Into the Uncanny: Danny Robins, Chris French & Deborah Hyde

‘The ghosts of today don’t live in castles or stately homes, they’re in normal houses and workplaces, witnessed by people just like you and me. But are they the dead returning from the “undiscovered country” of death, or the product of that equally mysterious location, the human mind?’

Danny Robins is on a mission to solve the greatest mysteries – do ghosts exist? His thrilling new book tells the stories of ordinary people who have experienced extraordinary things and want to understand them. It is also a journey of self-discovery, as Danny explores what the paranormal means to us, and considers the exciting yet terrifying prospect that we are not alone. Are you Team Believer or Team Sceptic – and do you dare to find out? Helping you decide are Uncanny crew members Chris French and Deborah Hyde.

Danny Robins is an award-winning British writer, broadcaster and journalist. He created the hit BBC podcasts The Battersea Poltergeist, Uncanny and The Witch Farm, and the Olivier Award-nominated West End play 2:22 – A Ghost Story, which is now playing in countries around the world. He has created and written various shows for TV and radio, including the BAFTA-nominated series Young Dracula for BBC1.

Chris French
is Emeritus Professor and Head of the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit in the Psychology Department at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and a Patron of Humanists UK. He is the co-author of Anomalistic Psychology: Exploring Paranormal Belief and Experience and is the author of The Science of Weird Shit
.

Deborah Hyde wants to know why people believe in weird stuff. She attributes her fascination with the supernatural to having spent her childhood with mad aunties. She approaches the subject using the perspectives of psychology and history.

Into the Uncanny will be available on the night. There will be signings.

  1. Learning from Experience: How JetWebHackers Helped Me Recover Lost Funds

As the Assistant Manager at Booker Software, Inc., I want to share my recent experience with an investment scam that serves as a cautionary tale. I was approached by an individual named David FX on LinkedIn who promised substantial returns on Bitcoin investments. I invested $103,000, only to be deceived into believing I had made a profit of $304,930 within a week. Unfortunately, this was a scam, and I lost all my money. Fortunately, I enlisted the help of JetWebHackers, who successfully tracked down and hacked David’s website, allowing me to recover both my initial investment and the promised profits. This experience underscores the importance of due diligence when it comes to online investments. I am immensely grateful to JetWebHackers for their expertise and support. I urge everyone to remain vigilant and seek professional help if faced with similar situations. Thank you for listening.
